Your first visit to our Sarasota chiropractic clinic is an exciting step in your wellness journey! Whether you are struggling with chronic pain, need support healing following an accident injury, or are seeking guidance for living a healthier, more active life, our chiropractic team is here to help. We follow a “whole body approach” to chiropractic care means that we not only provide immediate relief for your pain, but also support all aspects of your health through proactive wellness care.
On your first visit, you will be greeted by our receptionist and welcomed to our practice. If you have not yet completed our new patient paperwork, you will be asked to do so during this time. This paperwork is a brief survey of your current health concerns and any past problems you may have experienced. Our chiropractors will use your feedback on these forms to guide your first diagnostic consultation. During this meeting our chiropractors will discuss your health-related problems, concerns and potential treatment options. The initial visit is an opportunity to learn more about your lifestyle and health needs and to assess how chiropractic care can best help meet your goals.
During your first visit we will discuss our chiropractic philosophy of whole body health and how this philosophy relates to the three phases of treatment: relief care, corrective care and wellness care. Following this consultation, we will perform a physical diagnostic exam to test your reflexes, flexibility, balance and coordination. Depending on your injury or pain concerns, our chiropractors may recommend standard neurological, orthopedic, postural or physical health assessment tests. These results of these tests will help better determine the extent of your injuries and pain and whether an undiagnosed health issue may be at the root of these problems. Depending on your specific health complaint, we may also take X-rays. X-rays provide important diagnostic information about spinal misalignments. Many of our patients are amazed to see their spinal misalignment or disc degeneration for the first time!
At the conclusion of these diagnostic tests, our chiropractors will review the results along with your health history and wellness goals. Based on these findings, we will recommend appropriate treatment to provide immediate relief and also correct the underlying problem. Should specialized care from another healthcare provider be necessary, our doctors can make referrals and recommendations. In addition to in-office treatment such as chiropractic adjustments, we will also discuss at-home care options. These treatments may include ice or heat application, postural modification, corrective care exercises and stretches.
We are honored to be your partner in your journey towards better health. We consider our patients to be extended family members and treat each patient with genuine compassion and respect. Our goal is for you to be healthy for life!
